Trade has always carried on, everywhere. Thousands of years ago, new phenomena, styles and goods, created in cultural centers, spread with traders far and wide from their origins. In the northernmost regions of Europe, Skolt Sámi women were among the first to wear earrings. In centuries past, they wore earrings decorated with brightly colored glass and silver beads, which they bought from traders coming from the east. This piece is based on the model of jewelry originating in the Suonikylä village in Petsamo, Lapland. The form and structure of this jewelry originate in the Byzantine Empire, the first centuries AD. Adjustable length 80/70 cm.
