It's woven from pure new wool at the mill in Lapua, then brushed to raise the surface, which is what makes it comfortable directly against skin. Twisted fringe finishes both short ends.
Punos is Finnish for braid, and the pattern earns the name: broad bands of cinnamon and pale grey pass over and under one another the way strands do in a plait, with black bars marking where they cross. The mill's own design team drew it, and the jacquard loom builds it into the structure of the cloth rather than printing it on — which is why the color blocks meet in such clean, exact edges.
