Marimekko Kukasta Kukkaan Kitchen Towel
Marimekko Kukasta Kukkaan Kitchen Towel
Erja Hirvi painted the Kukasta Kukkaan print at her summer cottage, capturing the loose, unruly way flowers actually bloom rather than the tidy way they are usually drawn. The Finnish name translates to "from flower to flower," a nod to the path a bumblebee takes across a meadow. Here the blossoms drift the length of the towel in plum, ochre, coral and soft grey against unbleached off white. Woven from a blend of recycled cotton, organic cotton and linen, the Marimekko Kukasta Kukkaan Kitchen Towel dries glasses without leaving lint behind and softens with every wash. A hanging loop on the long edge keeps it within reach of the stove, and the fabric is printed in Helsinki.
