In a powder room, by the kitchen sink, or at a basin used a dozen times a day, a hand towel does steady work. The Marimekko Räsymatto Hand Towel is organic cotton terry with a reversible jacquard weave, off-white dots against dusty blue on one side and the colors trading places on the other, with a ribbed blue border at each end. Maija Louekari took inspiration in 2009 from the most ordinary object in a Finnish home, the traditional rag rug woven from strips of worn-out clothes. Räsymatto lifts its tight rows to graphic scale as big, round, soft-edged dots.
