The Marimekko Räsymatto Large Mug is made from white stoneware, with the pattern carrying the full circumference and only the handle and rim left plain. Maija Louekari found her 2009 pattern in the most ordinary thing in a Finnish home, the rag rug woven from strips of old clothes. Räsymatto enlarges its tight rows to graphic scale, and here the dots come up creamy white against a clear rose-pink ground. The mug stands 4 inches tall with a 3.75-inch diameter and can go straight from freezer to microwave to dishwasher.
