Räsymatto — Finnish for "rag rug" — takes its name from the hand-woven textile found in Finnish cottages and summer homes, where strips of worn fabric are looped into colorful, durable floor rugs. Finnish designer Maija Louekari translated that humble, tactile tradition into a graphic pattern of tightly spaced dots in classic black and white.
On this generously sized 14 oz bowl, the pattern wraps the exterior in clean horizontal rows, graphic enough to be striking, quiet enough to work with anything. Made from durable white stoneware, it's equally suited to morning oatmeal and an evening soup — and moves easily from freezer to oven to dishwasher without complaint.
