A bull moose strides across pale Finnish birch — unhurried, certain of its place in the forest. The illustration is the work of Teemu Järvi, a Finnish artist whose ink drawings of northern wildlife are rooted in years spent hiking, fishing, and canoeing the wilderness he depicts. Working with a traditional reed pen and Chinese ink, Järvi captures not just the form of his subjects but their presence — and on this tray, the moose's authority comes through in every brushstroke.
The tray is handmade in Finland by Muurla, a Finnish design house founded in 1974 with deep roots in domestic craft. It is shaped from PEFC-certified Finnish birch plywood and finished with a protective melamine lamination that keeps the surface food-safe and dishwasher safe. Light in hand but sturdy in use, it works equally well as a serving tray, a bedside catch-all, or simply displayed as the piece of art it is.
