Maija Isola painted Unikko in 1964 as a direct act of defiance — Marimekko's founder had banned floral prints entirely, convinced no design could match the beauty of a real flower. Isola disagreed, and the oversized, freehand poppy she created became the most iconic print in Finnish design history. In this orange and pink colorway, it brings that same bold, joyful energy straight into your bathroom.
The towel is woven in cotton terry from 65% organic cotton and 35% recycled cotton, with the recycled fibers sourced from textile waste generated within Marimekko's own production — a closed loop that turns recycled fiber into something worth wrapping yourself in.
