Here Maija Isola's Unikko poppy is not printed onto the cloth but woven into it. The jacquard construction builds the flower out of the weave itself in off white and warm brown, giving the surface a raised, tactile quality that shifts as the light moves across it through the day. Made from recycled cotton, which lends the ground a lively, faintly variable tone, the Marimekko Unikko Cushion Cover measures 20 by 20 inches and closes with a concealed zipper for easy removal of an insert. Machine washable, and quietly textural on a sofa, an armchair or a bed.
