The Marimekko Räsymatto Mug is durable white stoneware, and the pattern wraps the body so it meets itself behind the handle. Maija Louekari took inspiration in 2009 from the simplest thing on the floor, the traditional Finnish rag rug woven from strips of clothes past wearing. Räsymatto opens its close rows into big, soft-edged dots, alternating here in cornflower blue, navy, ochre and pale sand. The mug measures 3.75 inches tall with a 3.15-inch rim and handles the oven, microwave, freezer and dishwasher without fuss.
