Erja Hirvi painted Kukasta Kukkaan during a burst of creativity at her summer retreat, letting the pattern emerge loosely as she worked and catching the many different ways flowers actually appear in nature. The name translates from Finnish as "from flower to flower," after the path a bumblebee takes between blooms. Here the blossoms open across the tote in orange, pink, plum and ochre.
