For the first time in over a century, a complete history of the U.P.—from prehistoric origins to the present—is available.
Drawing on oral histories, newspapers, census data, archives and libraries, Russell M. Magnaghi has written the seminal history of a very "special place" as seen through the eyes of the men and women who have lived here—the famous and not
so famous.

Interesting

Was in Mqt the week before and wondering. If touch of Finland still operating. Had gotten glass figurines from there, when I lived in the Marquette area in 1980-90. Since my dad’s relatives came from Vaasa, am interested in that area off Finland.

As for the UP history, I had heard of Mr. Magnaghi and had seen his books on Amazon kindle. Was surprised to see this UP book was in paperback.

I have lived in the UP for all my life 60+ so am interested in the history of this region
