Keidas — Finnish for "oasis" — was designed by Annika Rimala in the latter half of the 1960s, inspired by the energy and rhythm of youth culture. Its swirling, fluid forms feel just as alive today, and on the Maridenim Vaihe jean shirt they take on new dimension: laser-etched into indigo denim, the pattern reads as a shifting tonal wash rather than a printed surface, as if it emerged from the fabric itself.
The relaxed fit wears easily as a shirt or light layer. Classic denim details — pointed collar, gold-tone snap buttons, chest pocket, back yoke seam, and curved hem — are grounded in Marimekko's own circular design principles. The Maridenim line follows the Ellen MacArthur Foundation's Jeans Redesign guidelines: monomaterial cotton (80% organic, 20% recycled), no elastane, removable buttons, no rivets, and finishing techniques.
A distinctive piece of Finnish design that wears its values as confidently as it wears its pattern.
