Inspired by the Northern Lights, designer Akira Minagawa distilled the aurora borealis into a pattern built entirely from lines — vertical strokes that shift and overlap to suggest the movement of light rippling across a winter sky. The result is a blanket whose woven surface changes depending on how it falls and where the light catches it. The reverse side mirrors the pattern in inverted tones, making it as considered from either side.
Woven from 100% pure new wool — including locally sourced Finnsheep wool gathered from farms within 400 kilometers of Lapuan Kankurit's mill in Lapua — the Aurora Finnish wool blanket is soft, warm. At over 51 by 70 inches, it's a generous size for the sofa or the bed.
