The Iisa pendant is three circles reading as one: a maple bead above an open metal ring, with a second, larger bead suspended inside it. The design traces back to Aarikka's work in the 1960s, and the ring frames rather than encloses, so the bead at its center catches light from behind as well as in front. The pendant measures an inch and a quarter across. The chain adjusts between 31.5 and 35.5 inches, which puts it near the sternum, or higher if you shorten it. Black maple against bright metal is the most graphic form this design takes; the wood keeps its grain visible beneath the dye, and the pendant is light enough that the chain never pulls at the neck.
