Maija Louekari found her 2009 pattern in the plainest object in a Finnish home, the rag rug woven from strips of clothes past wearing. Räsymatto takes its tight rows and opens them out into big, round, soft-edged dots. The blanket measures 51 by 71 inches; air it regularly and brush as needed.
