The Marimekko Räsymatto Throw Blanket is jacquard-knit certified RWS wool, which gives the dots weight and relief, deep rose against pale blush on one face and the tones reversing on the other, with off-white fringe along the short ends. Räsymatto is Finnish for rag rug, a traditional Finnish rug made by cutting worn-out clothing into strips and weaving it back into something useful, so nothing in the house is wasted. Maija Louekari took inspiration from one in 2009 and enlarged its rows into the soft-edged dots you see here. The blanket measures 51 by 71 inches; regular airing and brushing keep it fresh.
