Step out of the shower onto something that holds its ground. The Marimekko Räsymatto Bath Mat is woven from dense organic cotton terry, plush underfoot and steady beside a tub, in front of a bathroom sink, or on the floor of a sauna changing room. Räsymatto is named for the rag rug that lies by the door of nearly every Finnish home and summer cottage, woven in tight rows from strips of old cloth. Maija Louekari took inspiration from those rows in 2009 and opened them into big, soft-edged dots, off-white here against a deep charcoal ground, with the charcoal returning as a woven binding along the sides.
